From July 21st to 25th, 2025, CISANET, under the Combating Corruption in Affordable Inputs Program (COCOA) project, conducted Community Score Card meetings in six Extension Planning Areas (EPAs) and five EPAs in Phalombe and Dedza districts, respectively, with community members, in coordination with the CSO network and the District Agriculture Extension Coordinating Committee.
The initiative seeks to capture the community’s perception of malfeasance and corruption elements related to the distribution and utilization of AIP inputs and their general satisfaction with the program. Through an interactive approach with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture AIP task force and Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), community members were given a platform to share their input on their experiences with the AIP program, the challenges they have faced, and how it has changed their lives.
The goal is to strengthen transparency mechanisms and ensure that the voices of community members directly influence policy and program improvements. This participatory approach reinforces CISANET’s commitment to promoting social accountability and ensuring that public programs like AIP achieve their intended aims. The reports from the scorecard will add more efforts to help deal with corruption in AIP.
