“Last week CISANET made history as the President of Malawi, Dr. Lazarus Chakwera, presented us with a prestigious award for our outstanding contributions to the agriculture sector, during the NGO Gala Dinner at Sanjika Palace in Blantyre.
We are thrilled of the recognition and proud of the positive impact we have made in communities across Malawi.
This award is not just a recognition of our hard work but it is also a testament to the power of collaboration and partnership in the NGO sector. Thank you, our members and partners for your endless support.

Final Public_Statement on CISANET’s Recognition at the NGO Day Gala Dinner
The Civil Society Agriculture Network (CISANET) is deeply honoured to have been recognized at the prestigious NGO Day Gala Dinner held on 16th October 2024 at Sanjika Palace, Blantyre. This recognition demonstrates the collective efforts of our board, management, member organizations, private sector partners, academia, farmers, and individuals within the agriculture sector. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Gender, the NGO Regulatory Authority (NGORA), and the Council for Non- Governmental Organisations of Malawi (CONGOMA) for this valued recognition.
This honour comes at a time when Malawi, like many other nations, is grappling with multiple challenges. Global economic instability, the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war, and the shrinking donor support have placed immense pressure on the efforts to advance agricultural initiatives. Despite these hardships, this recognition serves as a motivating reminder of the importance of our work, especially in advocating for sustainable agriculture and food security in Malawi.
CISANET is committed to addressing critical gaps in the sector and calls upon all members of civil society, especially within the agriculture sector, to remain committed to advocating for a conducive environment where all Malawians are food secure. Moreover, we believe this is a critical moment for Malawi to take stock of our actions, processes, and policies in the agricultural sector.
This recognition strengthens CISANET’s resolve to work even harder in promoting transparency, accountability, and sound agricultural policies. We remain committed to joining hands with all well-meaning Malawians to fight corruption and build a sustainable and food-secure Malawi.
